A website in one day: what is realistic and what is not
"A website in a day" sounds like a marketing trick. With AI assistants and an experienced developer it is everyday reality, as long as you know what you want and have your materials ready.
The short answer
A simple company website with your copy, contact details and a form can realistically go live in one day today; with us it takes, indicatively, from about an hour of a senior's work with AI. What cannot be done in a day are things that depend on decisions and materials you do not have yet: copy written from scratch, several rounds of design feedback, a warehouse integration, or rankings in Google.
What is realistic in one day
- A company website with a few pages: home, services, about, contact. Indicatively from about an hour of work.
- A contact form that actually delivers: including a check that messages reach the right inbox.
- Fast loading and a mobile version: a modern site is fast and responsive from the start, not as an afterthought.
- A technical SEO foundation: titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemap, HTTPS.
- A simple custom e-shop: products, cart, payments and shipping in around 5 hours, indicatively, if your products and photos are ready.
What is not realistic in one day
| Requirement | Why it takes longer |
|---|---|
| Copy from scratch | Text about your company must be approved by someone who knows it. AI helps with drafts, but you decide. |
| Design with several feedback rounds | Each round waits for your reply. Coding is fast, decision-making is not. |
| Warehouse and accounting integration | Integration is separate work, indicatively around an extra day. |
| Migrating a large website | Redirects of old URLs, content, checking search rankings. |
| Google rankings | Indexing and building rankings takes weeks to months, regardless of who built the site. |
| Legal texts | Terms and privacy policy must be understood and approved by you, ideally with a lawyer. |
Why it is possible today
A few years ago most of the time spent on a website was routine work: templates, styles, forms, mobile adjustments. AI assistants now handle that part many times faster. A senior developer decides on the structure, reviews the code, speed and security and oversees deployment. We describe how this works in practice in the article What development with AI assistants looks like in practice.
The second reason is simplicity. A site without a heavy CMS and dozens of plugins is quick to build, quick to load and hard to break.
What to prepare so it fits into a day
- Copy, at least in a working draft: what you do, for whom and why you.
- Logo and photos in good resolution. Stock photos are a fallback; your own photos sell better.
- Contact and billing details: address, company ID, phone, e-mail.
- Access to the domain and DNS, or at least who the domain is registered with.
- Where enquiries from the form should go and who answers them.
- 2 or 3 websites you like, so we know which direction to take.
A day from brief to launch
- Morning: a short call to agree the structure and materials.
- Late morning: the senior builds the site with AI and you get a preview.
- Afternoon: feedback is applied, the site goes live on your domain, HTTPS, form test.
- Evening: the site is online and submitted for indexing.
The most common delay is not coding but waiting for copy, domain access or feedback.
Static site, WordPress or an e-commerce platform?
How fast a site can be built also depends on what it runs on:
- A static site is the fastest to build and to load, is very hard to attack and needs no plug-in updates. It suits a company presentation that changes a few times a year. We make the changes for you; a small edit takes around 15 minutes, indicatively.
- WordPress makes sense if you want to add articles or news often yourself. You pay for that with regular updates and security maintenance.
- A custom e-shop or a hosted platform, depending on whether you want the e-shop fully under your control or the options of a rented solution are enough.
For a one-day website we usually recommend a static site. If you want something else, we tell you up front how it changes the timeline.
What to do after launch
- Add the site to Google Search Console and submit the sitemap.
- Create or update your Google Business Profile so the site also shows up in maps.
- Send a test message through the form and check that it arrived.
- Check the site on a phone, not just on a computer.
- In the first weeks, watch where visitors come from and which pages they read.
What to watch out for with "fast" websites
- A tested form. A form that looks fine but delivers messages nowhere is a more common mistake than you would expect. Send yourself a test message right after launch.
- Ownership. The domain, code and access should be yours, not the supplier's.
- Hosting and backups. A fast site also needs reliable operations; see hosting and DevOps.
More languages and further extensions
A second language version can be done on the same day if you have translated copy. AI translation is a good draft, but copy that sells should be read by someone who knows the language. A blog, booking form, CRM connection or newsletter can be added later in the same way. A website in a day is a good start, not the final state. What matters is that it is built so it can grow without being rebuilt from scratch.
If you already know you will want an e-shop or a client zone within six months, say so at the start. The site structure will account for it and the later extension will be faster and cheaper.
How much it costs
You pay for a senior's hours worked, €38 per hour excl. VAT. With a company website from about an hour of work and an e-shop around 5 hours (all indicative), it is often less than a traditional agency charges just to prepare a quote. You get an estimate before we start. Details on the Website in a day, Websites and e-shops and Pricing pages.

FAQ
Is a website built in one day any good?
Yes, if an experienced developer builds it. Speed today does not come from skipping steps but from AI assistants doing the routine while a senior reviews the code, speed, SEO foundation and security.
What do I need to prepare?
Copy at least in draft form, a logo, photos, contact details and access to your domain. We can help with the copy, but you must approve it.
Will the site rank at the top of Google right away?
No. The site can be technically ready and submitted for indexing on the same day, but search rankings take weeks to months to build.
